Recommind Announces Mindserver Legal - The Leading Enterprise Search Solution For Law Firms
MindServer Legal Improves Efficiency, Helps Lawyers Find Documents Across Firm in Seconds
LegalTech, New York - February 2, 2004 - Recommind, Inc. today announced MindServer Legal, a text management system developed specifically for law firms. MindServer Legal features concept-based search that enables attorneys and legal staff to quickly find documents stored in multiple systems across the firm with one search. With MindServer Legal, lawyers spend less time searching for documents and therefore develop work product more quickly, meet deadlines, and reduce administrative costs for their clients.
“MindServer Legal improves our legal customers' search capabilities tremendously and facilitates the sharing of knowledge across practices and offices,” said Bob Tennant, CEO of Recommind. “With MindServer Legal, law firms will maximize the investment made in document management systems because attorneys will be able to easily find and leverage the work that already exists within the firm.”
Conventional search methods, in place at most law firms today, are overwhelmed by the large and dynamic document collections contained in multiple systems across a firm's offices. Limited search capabilities require lawyers to know the exact keyword and syntax to successfully find a document, yet often return too many results that are not relevant.
Growing Need for Fast Search Within All Data Repositories Recommind has quickly distinguished itself in the legal market by developing a product that combines patented search and categorization technologies to deliver the most accurate and automated enterprise search solution. Unlike conventional search methods, lawyers using Recommind's concept-based search quickly find relevant information from any source or location within or outside the firm. MindServer Legal finds relevant documents even if the search term is not mentioned in the body of a document, ranks results by relevance, highlights search terms to reveal the most useful portion of a document, and automatically groups results into categories such as author, client matter, office, or practice area.
“Leveraging technology to provide timely, professional service and the highest level of legal counsel is core to the level of service we desire to provide our attorneys and legal staff at Paul Hastings. Recommind's search capabilities are an excellent complement to our existing systems, such as our portal, and we expect it to provide significant benefit to our attorneys and staff as they develop content and ‘know how’ in a variety of systems and formats,” said Peter Ozolin, CTO/CKO at Paul Hastings, a law firm that serves Fortune 500 and Forbes International 500 clients.
MindServer Legal is well suited to the complex needs of global firms by supporting more than 100 document formats and more than 30 languages. Due to the complex information needs of law firms, MindServer Legal is easily integrated with existing document management systems, intranets and databases and enables fast access to the most recent version of a document as well as to documents stored remotely.
MindServer Legal will be available at the end of March, and Recommind will be demonstrating the product at LegalTech NY, booth 3113.
